Maoists kill ‘police informer’ in Khammam

Maoists allegedly killed a 30-year-old tribal youth dubbing him as a police informer in Unjupalli forest area of Charla mandal in Bhadrachalam division late on Saturday night.

According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Kurusam Balakrishna, 30, of Lakshmipuram village in Venkatapuram mandal.

Suspected rebels allegedly whisked away Kurusam Balakrishna into the forest area a few days ago and grilled him over his alleged role as police informer before killing him around Saturday midnight, sources added. The rebels reportedly dumped his body alongside a kutcha road leading to Pusuguppa village and left behind a poster in the name of CPI (Maoist) district committee at the spot in the early hours of Sunday. The rebels, through the poster, alleged that Balakrishna acted as a “police informer”.
