Dr. A.S.Judson arrived from United Arab Emirates, Kishore Babu Duvvur came from Dubai, and Kodali Balaji travelled all the way from Ohio. There was an impressive gathering of Telugus, who settled in different countries, and turned up at the Amaravati foundation ceremony on Thursday.
While for some it was a kind of reunion meeting and for others it was an opportunity to explore the investment prospects in the new capital.
A systems manager with the State Government of Ohio, Mr. Kodali Balaji wanted to participate in the foundation ceremony. He reached Vijayawada on Tuesday and will be leaving back on Friday.
“I came here exclusively for participating in the foundation ceremony. It feels great to be here on this auspicious occasion of Amaravati foundation. Besides I am also exploring the investments prospects in the health sector here as there is lot of potential,” said Mr. Balaji.
Kishore Babu Duvvur, Managing Director of Jazeera Emirates Power said he was here to participate in the Dasara festivities with his family and friends, besides participating in the foundation ceremony. “”It is a double bonanza. We compliment Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for inspiring farmers and planning the construction of new capital with big plans” said Mr. Duvvur.
He said the company was into underground power distribution, establishing indoor sub stations and other power related projects. “I have already had some meetings with authorities here and looking forward to execute some projects,” said Mr. Duvvur.
A voluntary organisation, Non Resident Telugu Incorporation (NRT), Vijayawada extended the foundation invitations to Telugu people settled in United States, Dubai, United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia and other countries to seek their cooperation and explore investments prospects in the new capital.
Invitations were extended to 800 individuals, representing different organisations and many turned up for the event. The objective was to help them explore investments opportunities and assist them as many are people are keen about Amaravati, said Dr. Hari Chowdary, a member of NRT Incorporation.
“After the individuals confirmed their participation, we approached the authorities here seeking invitation copies and passes etc,” said Mr. Chowdary.
Dr. A.S.Judson, a native of Prakasam and working as Managing Director of Progressive English School, UAE said it was privilege to be part of the foundation ceremony. “Our company Solomon Group is into different fields like general trading, education and media and we would like to explore some opportunities here,” said Mr. Judson.
