‘Management students should develop acumen’

In-charge Vice-Chancellor of Adikavi Nannaya University (ANUR) E.N. Dhanamjaya Rao has emphasised that the MBA students should learn management skills by improving their acumen.

He inaugurated “Medho Wiz”-Management Week-organised by the Department of Management Studies (DOMS) at the university campus on the outskirts of Rajahmundry on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rao said that the DOMS launched MBA (Tourism and Hospitality) course which offered bright career prospects for students. B. Sridharan, General Manager, Logistics, International AP Paper Mill, Rajahmundry, has said that this type of events would inculcate good learning and hardworking habits among students.

Dr. P.R.K. Raju, former GM Human Resources, ONGC, Rajahmundry, has said that this type of simulated practical learning would equip the MBA students to face real life challenges in an effective and efficient manner.

Prof. S. Teki, Dean Academic Affairs, has said that an effective decision at an appropriate time and right place makes professional managers successful. Dr. N. Uday Bhaskar, Head of the Department, who presided over the function, said that the DOMS has been growing by leaps and bounds and the service sector which is growing rapidly will play a greater role in providing bright careers in management field in the country.

Over about 1,000 students from East and West Godavari districts, Vishakapatanam and other districts are participated in this two-day event. Events like Bull Vs Bear, Young Manager, Win as much as you can, Tower Building, Business Quiz and also various cultural events were conducted.
