In a shocking incident, a father allegedly threw his three sons into Neeva river at Gangadhara Nellore mandal headquarters, 10 km from here, on Sunday night.

The police retrieved the bodies of Puneeth (6), Sanjay (3) and Rahul (10 months) which were found floating on Monday and shifted them to the General Hospital here for post-mortem.

According to preliminary information, Venktesh (28), a lorry driver, and his wife Amaravati (25) of nearby Balagangana Palli village, quarrelled frequently over family matters.

Ms. Amaravati is the second wife of the suspect.

The villagers reportedly informed the police that the couple had a bitter fight on Sunday night. Later, the father was seen moving towards Gangadhara Nellore with the children around 10 p.m.
