A 26-year-old man allegedly murdered his mother and grandmother after they refused to transfer property on his name, at Vinayak Nagar in Anantapur on Monday.

According to the police, the accused Kiran reportedly slit the throats of his mother Pushpalatha (43) and grandmother Bala Nagamma (58), while they were asleep and fled. The two women were found dead by the neighbours who alerted the police.

At around 4 p.m. Kiran had come home in an inebriated state along with his friend and reportedly committed the murders and fled.

The police have filed a case and were searching for the accused.
