Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu criticised former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for making “baseless” allegations against Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, claiming that the Chief Minister has made all possible arrangements to ensure that people did not suffer.

Speaking at a community gathering in Anantapur on Sunday, Mr. Vishnu said that Mr. Naidu, who claims to have four decades of political experience, was criticising Mr. Jagan who was visiting the U.S. to seek investments for the State.

“The floodwater was released by slowly increasing the quantum as and when the flood increased, and kept a cushion in the reservoirs so that not many areas are flooded. All vulnerable spots were identified in advance and people were evacuated and sent to rehabilitation camps and food/water arranged for them, which ensured that there was no loss of life. The government also planned support to the people living in low-lying areas,” Mr. Vishnu said.

Sanitation was taken care of and MPs, MLAs and Ministers are continuously monitoring the situation, he said.

“Officials need to be appreciated for ensuring that none are made to suffer on account of the Godavari or Krishna floods, but the TDP is hell-bent on criticising the Chief Minister for touring foreign countries during both the floods,” Mr. Vishnu told mediapersons.
