‘Jagan-for-CM’ demand turns into a wish for AP Ministers

Andhra Pradesh Congress ministers, who have been pitching for making Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as Chief Minister, appeared to have mellowed down.

“Making Y S Jagan as Chief Minister is not our demand. It is our wish. We will abide by the decision of the (Congress) high command,” State Panchayat Raj Minister B Satyanarayana, a strong supporter of Jagan, told reporters here.

Almost all the ministers have been vociferously espousing the cause of anointing Jaganmohan, a first-time MP, as his late father Rajasekhara Reddy’s successor.

Rajasekhara Reddy’s close aide and Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao has been leading the “Jagan-for-CM” campaign with the active support of the ministers.

The ministers have earlier faced flak from Opposition parties for skipping the official reviews held by Chief Minister K Rosaiah.

Meanwhile, Congress Working Committee member K Keshav Rao, in-charge of party affairs in West Bengal and Jharkhand, said all partymen should abide by the high command’s decision.

Mr. Rao praised the abilities of Rosaiah, a veteran politician, as an able leader.
