Minister for Information Technology and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh had a busy day at the World Economic Forum meet at Davos on Tuesday, interacting with global delegates on the innovative modalities and the latest technologies being put to use by Andhra Pradesh to usher in development.
The AP lounge at the global meet has depictions of Real Time Governance and the industrial development as a result of it. Mr. Lokesh, along with his team of officials, including Special Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Poonam Malakondaiah, Special Secretary, Agriculture B. Rajasekhar, Advisor to Government on Agriculture T. Vijay Kumar, AP Economic Development Board CEO J. Krishna Kishore, APIIC Managing Director Babu A., Information and Public Relations Secretary B. Ramanjaneyulu and Advisor to Government, Health, Jitender Sharma, interacted with the delegates at the meet.
On the first day of the four-day-long meeting, Mr. Lokesh met Anil Sardana, MD and CEO of the Adani group, and discussed the modalities for early completion of the data centre and the solar project taken up by the group in A.P.
Call centre
With the governance team of WEF Agile, he discussed interlinking and upgradation of technology. He said the A.P. government had embraced technology to solve people’s problems at a quicker pace and in an effective way.
A call centre was set up to register and resolve grievances of people real time, he said.
He also explained the digitisation of land records using blockchain technology to prevent possible tampering of the records and soil-testing using drones with the financial assistance given by the Milinda Gates Foundation and e-Pragati to simplify distribution of certificates.
Interacting with the NASCOM executive council chairman Rishad Premji, the Minister said skill development programmes played a key role in providing jobs to youth. Interacting with the global chairman of Deloitte David Cruickshank, he said AP had achieved 12 % growth and a number of firms had set up units in the State.
