Legal Metrology wing conducts raids, files cases

Officials of Legal Metrology Department conducted inspections at various places in Vijayawada on Sunday and booked cases against 114 vendors for deceiving the public.

Following the directions of IG, Legal Metrology, E. Damodar, the teams inspected Kaleswara Rao Wholesale Vegetable Super Market, Governorpet Fish Market, Rythu Bazar at PWD Grounds, Fish Market at Patamata Lanka and Patamata Rythu Bazar, and checked the measuring instruments and weights. They found variations in the balances and booked cases against the vendors, Mr. Damodar said. Assistant Controller (Administration) N. Janardhan and Assistant Controller (Enforcement) K. Vijayanand Raj supervised the raids.
