Leaders pay respect to Channa Reddy

Leaders of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi, the Congress, Telugu Desam and the Bharatiya Janata Party transcended political barriers and paid their respects to former chief minister, late Marri Channa Reddy on his 18th death anniversary at the memorial in India Park in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Among those present were Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Chairman, A. Chakrapani, Telangana Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chari, Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy, Finance Minister Eatala Reddy, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, K. Jana Reddy and a host of people's representatives from different parties.

Led by the Speaker, the elected representatives and others laid wreaths at the memorial, as others raised slogans hailing Channa Reddy.

The leaders waited at a specially-erected shamiana on the premises where musical tributes were paid to Channa Reddy by classical singers.

A number of people's representatives and leaders, including MLC Jagadheeshwar, MLAs J. Geeta Reddy (Congress), BJP floor leader in the Assembly, K. Laxman and MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, Telugu Desam Party deputy floor leader in the Assembly, A. Revanth Reddy and TDP MLA Vivekananda Goud, TRS MLA Yadaiah and others attended the function.

Among relatives at the occasion were Channa Reddy's sons Ravinder Reddy, former MLA Sashidhar Reddy and his sons Adithya and Puru, daughter Hem.
