Land acquisition notification on May 14

The State government is all set to issue notification under the Land Acquisition Act for acquiring about 600 acres to 700 acres from farmers who did not give their consent for land pooling scheme for the capital city.

The notification will be issued on May 14 for the lands to be acquired in river-front villages of Undavalli and Penumaka in Guntur, including the those who moved court complaining delay in disposing of their pleas raised under Rule -6 (2) (1) of AP Capital City Land Pooling Scheme Rules 2015.

The notification under Land Acquisition Act will be issued only to those lands whose owners did not agree to part with their lands to implement fair compensation, rehabilitation and resettlement provisions under the LA Act. However, it appears that there was some confusion as the petitioners opposing land pooling went to court on the ground that their objections were not disposed of within 15 days as stated in the Land Pooling Scheme .Objections to be resolved

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana said all the objections related to 6,000 acres would be resolved in one or two months.

By May 15, agreement would be signed with the owners of around 20,000 acres and entire 33,000 acres by May -end. The ground breaking ceremony would be held in June, he said.
