Laddu token scam: TTD EO cracks the whip

May 19, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:06 am IST - TIRUPATI:

TTD Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao on Monday said that three regular employees had been placed under suspension and two contract workers removed after the vigilance inquiry found their ‘prima facie’ involvement in the laddu token scandal.

The vigilance sleuths had seized as many as 1,750 fake tokens printed in the TTD press, indicating ‘insider hand’. “By getting rubber stamp mark affixed on all tokens pertaining to the said period, we have ensured that the fake tickets in circulation are rendered invalid,” Dr. Rao said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Executive Officer (Reception) Kodandarama Rao has been appointed inquiry officer to investigate the case further.
