Executive Officer of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam M. Padma has been transferred.

She had assumed the office only on January 29 this year after the post fell vacant following the transfer of A. Surya Kumari.

IRS officer V. Koteswaramma, who is waiting for posting on deputation, will be the new EO.

The government on Friday issued GO 1766, transferring and posting Ms. Padma as Managing Director the A.P. Brahmin Welfare Corporation.

She would continue to hold full additional charge of Endowments Commissioner until further orders.

A controversy had erupted recently as a sari donated by a devotee was found missing.

Kanaka Durga Temple Trust Board member K. Suryalatha Kumari was held responsible for it.

Taking a serious view of it, the Board chairman had issued her a memo asking her to keep away from the temple activities.

This is not the first time the EO is transferred within a short period of time.

Ms. Surya Kumari, the first IAS officer to be posted as EO of the temple, had served for about one year and eight months.

Earlier, Chandrasekhar Azad had served as the EO for a brief period after Ch. Narsing Rao, who was in office from November 2014 to July 2016.
