Koneru Prasad denied bail again

February 25, 2012 11:57 am | Updated 11:57 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A court here on Friday rejected the request for bail by Trimex group chairman Koneru Prasad who is lodged in jail in Emaar township scam. This is the third time that his application has been dismissed since his arrest on November 3.

Appearing for Mr. Prasad, noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani had told the court last week that the CBI had not produced any evidence to court to show his client will tamper with evidence if released on bail. However, the CBI insisted he would create hurdles in the investigation of the case.

The court today asked the CBI to release to Suvarnabhoomi real estate firm the laptop seized from Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's financial advisor V. Vijay Sai Reddy unless the CBI required it for further analysis. Mr. Vijay Sai Reddy is the auditor of that firm. The court posted for February 28 arguments on the bail application moved by G. Venkata Vijaya Raghav, finance head-south of Emaar MGF Land.
