Strong plea: TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu submitting a memorandum to Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan

Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said his party’s senior leader Kodela Siva Prasad Rao’s suicide was a case in point to prove that the YSR Congress Party had unleashed a reign of anarchy in Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing a press conference after meeting Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan to submit a 13-page report and seeking his intervention to rein in the ruling party, Mr. Naidu said he had explained to him the ‘unfortunate’ circumstances that had led to the suicide of former A.P. Speaker Siva Prasada Rao.

Mr. Naidu said 18 cases had been booked against the former Speaker’s family members and Rao was made A-2 in some of them.

Citing the case in which Rao was accused of taking away Assembly furniture, Mr. Naidu alleged that ignoring his repeated statements that he had written to the authorities concerned to either take away the furniture or allow him to pay for it, he was maligned, humiliated. Mr. Naidu said most of the cases were vague and booked under wrong Sections.
