Katari couple murder: two more arrested

The Chittoor police on Wednesday arrested two more accused in the murder of Chittoor Mayor Katari Anuradha and her husband Katari Mohan.

Chittoor DSP Mr. Lakshmi Naidu, producing the duo - V. Yoganand (35) of KC Gardens at Kongareddy Palli locality in Chittoor; and N. Sasidhar (42) of Mulabhagal of Kolar district in Karnataka - before the media, said the two used to have financial dealings with A1 accused Chandrasekhar alias Chintu (nephew of Katari Mohan) for the last several years.

Chintu had obtained tender for the Chittoor vegetable market in Yoganand’s name. Sasidhar is also an accused in the attempt to murder on former Chittoor MLA C.K. Jayachandra Reddy alias C.K. Babu in 2007. During interrogation, Yoganand confessed to have spared his car for Chintu for executing the crime.
