Kasturba Gandhi Kendra Trust is contemplating a free hospital facility for the poor, which will be run on “Gandhian” lines. Sponsored by Gandhi Smriti, New Delhi, the Trust has former Governor Bhishma Narain Singh as its patron and is involved in social activities aimed at the uplift of the poor.

The KGKT is currently in the process of identifying land in Tirupati to establish a 24X7 medicare centre for the poor, apart from a library to spread Gandhiji’s ever-relevant message. “The hospital will be developed in the PPP mode on the lines of India International Centre, Delhi,” announced P.C. Rayulu, its chairman and managing trustee, on Wednesday. He recalled that the trust had distributed sewing machines to poor women, etc. in the past.
