JNTUK to offer industrial consultancy services

June 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - KAKINADA:

In a bid to make the institute self-sufficient and to bridge the gap between industry and institute, the Directorate of School of Health Sciences and Research of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) is soon going to launch industrial consultancy services.

The department that is offering MS PG Degree programme in Environment Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS) and Sports Science and Applied Medicine (Sports Medicine) courses is having senior faculty members on its payrolls, who had a vast experience in several industries in India and abroad. Making use of their services, the directorate is going to offer safety and health consultancy services to the industries in the region. “It is going to be a win-win situation for both the university and the industries. Finding out experienced consultants is a major challenge for the industries here. For JNTUK, the consultancy is going to be a source of revenue,” says P.S. Prasad, Programme Director of the School of Health Science and Research.
