Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, will lay the foundation stone for the Nation Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics (NACEN) in the district on April 11.
Collector Kona Sasidhar said that the foundation stone would be laid at Palasamudram in Penukonda Assembly constituency by Mr. Jaitley. Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkiah Naidu is also expected to attend the event. The institute is among the national institutes promised to the State by the Centre ahead of bifurcation. Mr Sasidhar said that the Union ministers, besides Mr. Naidu, would would address a public meeting at the government primary school in Somandepalli, a few kilometres away from there.
The Collector, along with MLA B.K. Parthasarathy, visited the meeting venue and asked the officials to make a fool-proof arrangement. Mr. Jaitley is also expected to announce a special package for seven backward districts of the State, a TDP legislator said.
