Jagan to resume ‘Rythu Bharosa Yatra’ from May 11

YSRC president also plans ‘deeksha’ onJune 5, 6 to highlight govt. failures

May 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:00 am IST - HYDERABAD:

YSR Congress president and Leader of the Opposition Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will undertake a two-day ‘deeksha’ on June 5 and 6 to highlight the failures of TDP government. Before that, he will resume his ‘Rythu Bharosa Yatra’ in Anantapur district from May 11.

This was stated here on Sunday by senior leader of the party Ummareddy Venkateswarlu and party’s farmers’ cell convenor M.V.S. Nagi Reddy.

Venue not yet decided

The venue of the two-day ‘deeksha’ was yet to be decided but it would be at a place between Vijayawada and Guntur, they said.

Lashing out at the TDP government for its failures and apathy towards farmers the YSR Congress leaders said: “TDP has no moral right to celebrate ‘Vijaya Yatra’ for completing one year in office as the term is littered with failures on all fronts. The government has made a mockery of the election manifesto with its inability to keep any of the promises made in that document”.

They suggested the TDP to take up a ‘vyphalya (failure) yatra’ instead of ‘vijaya (success) yatra’ as it owed an explanation to people for going back on poll promises, particularly its failure to write off (waive) all agriculture loans, he said.

“Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy will describe to people with facts and figures as to how Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has fooled farmers and other sections during and after the elections, besides exposing his tall claims which lack feasibility”, Mr. Venkateswarlu said.

The facts and figures on farmers’ debt waiver would leave no place for hiding to TDP dispensation as debt had gone up to Rs. 97,915 crore on March 31 this year against Rs. 87,612 crore on March 31, 2014 even after the government’s claims to have cleared it in two phases, he said adding that people would also be told how TDP government had cheated women self-help groups, students, youth and employees.

Stating that the second phase of ‘Rythu Bharosa Yatra’ would be held from May 11 to 18 in Anantapur district, Mr. Nagi Reddy alleged that farmers were at the receiving end during the 11-month rule of TDP reminding them of its nine-year regime in the past.

TDP has no moral right to celebrate ‘Vijay Yatra’ as its one-year tenure is littered with failures on all fronts.
