YSRC chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy would hold a review meeting in all Assembly constituencies in the district on January 9 and 10, according to party district president Budda Rajasekhar Reddy.

The visit of Mr. Jagan assumes importance in the wake of the rumours of MLAs mulling joining other parties for their local survival.

The YSR Congress has a strong base in Kurnool, but it had eroded to a large extent after the TDP came to power. Most of the MLAs and party functionaries, except a few, are keeping aloof and away from party activities.

Rumours are doing the rounds that certain leaders were mulling joining the BJP and TDP. The exit of MP S.P.Y. Reddy from the party was a setback in Nandyal. Kurnool MP Butta Renuka had planned to migrate to the TDP, but dropped the idea at the last minute. Leaders from the district had been pressurising the YSRC leadership to protect the base. Mr. Reddy is expected to hold a meeting with the elected representatives from Nandyal on January 9 and from Kurnool on January 10.

The party mandal functionaries and all elected representatives are expected for the meeting. MP Butta Renuka, MLAs S.V. Mohan Reddy, Budda Rajasekhar Reddy, Gouru Charita, Mani Gandhi, G. Jayaram, Izaiah and others attended the coordination meeting here on Wednesday.
