Jagan to flag off 500 ‘Thalli Bidda Express’ vehicles in Vijayawada on April 1

Aim is to provide free transport to pregnant women, mothers, and infants

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will flag off 500 ‘Dr. YSR Thalli Bidda Express’ vehicles at Benz Circle here on April 1.

Reviewing the arrangements for the programme on Wednesday, Krishna District Collector J. Nivas said the vehicles would provide free transport to pregnant women, mothers, and infants.

He said the vehicles should be parked district-wise on M.G. Road. He directed the Joint Collector to ensure that all the vehicles were placed in order for their smooth movement after the flagging off ceremony. He said no vehicle should breakdown during the programme.

The Police Department was asked to impose traffic restrictions on the Chennai-Kolkata and the Machilipanam-Hyderabad highways.

Joint Collectors K. Madhavi Latha and L. Siva Shankar, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner P. Ranjit Basha, Vijayawada Sub Collector G.S.S. Praveen Chand, DCP V. Harshavadhan Raju, and DTC M. Purendra were present.
