People have lost faith in Telugu Desam govt., he says

Leader of the Opposition and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will address a public meeting at Ichapuram in Srikakulam district on Wednesday to mark the end of ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra,’ which he has been undertaking for the last 14 months.

Party leaders from different parts of the State have already reached the district to express solidarity with the party chief.

To mark the historic event, a pylon named named as ‘Vijaya Stupam’ has been constructed at Ichapuram.

Mr. Jagan, who launched his walkathon on November 6, 2017, at Idupulapaya of Kadapa district, has covered 3,648 km and visited 2,516 villages in 134 Assembly constituencies.

He has addressed 123 public meetings and met around 1 crore people, according to party leaders.

His yatra crossed the 3, 000-km milestone at Desapatruni Palem of Kothavalasa in Vizianagaram district on September 24, 2018. The Opposition leader used to take a break on every Friday to attend court in Hyderabad.

Mr. Jagan suspended his padayatra for about three weeks after he was attacked in the VIP lounge of the Visakhapatnam airport on October 25. Speaking to The Hindu, the YSRCP chief said that he could complete his padayatra with the support of the Almighty and lakhs of people. He said that all sections of society were disillusioned with the rule of the TDP government led by N. Chandrababu Naidu, and this was reflected during his interactions with people.
