Wondering why Leader of the Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was undertaking ‘padayatra’ instead of playing a responsible role in the Assembly, Congress leader and former Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday alleged that the Opposition had utterly failed in fulfilling its responsibilities towards the public.

“Mr. Jagan is stating that he would address the problems of the public only after becoming the Chief Minister. When people asked him to be the Opposition leader, he should render justice to his role,” he said at a Congress workers’ meet here.

Along with PCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy participated in the district tour and interacted with the workers at Rajamahendravaram and in the city.

Saying there was no point in going on yatras, he advised Mr. Jagan to launch a fight against the Centre to get the Special Category Status and the dues. He stressed on strengthening the Congress from the grassroot level by undertaking membership drive. Senior leader M.M. Pallam Raju and others were present.
