The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing the attack on YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, took the accused, J. Srinivas Rao, into custody from the Vijayawada jail on Saturday.

Srinivas was taken to the Government General Hospital for medical examination. Later, the police took him to an unknown location for questioning.

On Friday, the NIA court gave sleuths seven-day police custody of the accused. Accusing the police of taking the accused to an unknown location without informing him, his advocate Saleem filed a petition in the court urging it to direct the police to inform him about his whereabouts.

The police arranged tight security at the jail and at the hospital.
