YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of deceiving lakhs of women and farmers by doling out a pittance under the ‘Pasupu Kumkuma’ scheme announced just before the elections.
‘Allegations baseless’
“Mr. Naidu has copied our schemes (Navaratnaulu) announced at the party plenary in September 2017. After deceiving women by going back on his promise to waive SHG loans, Mr. Naidu rolled out the ‘Pasupu Kumkama’ scheme with a total outlay of just ₹6,000 crore. The amount of loan he failed to waive mounted to a staggering ₹28,000 crore. Mr. Naidu, who had promised unemployment allowance to 1.70 crore families barely managed to give it to three lakh youth. Yet, the yellow media has been publishing stories that contain baseless allegations against me and my family,” Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said at Piduguralla.
Launching a no-holds-barred attack against Gurazala MLA Yerapathaneni Srinivasa Rao, the YSRCP president said he would ensure that the fine of ₹100 crore levied on the MLA by the court in the matter relating to illegal mining of limestone was recovered and all cases registered against petty millers lifted.
“Piduguralla and Gurazala mandals witnessed rampant illegal mining of precious limestone by the MLA and his supporters. Even after the High Court passed strictures, the State government failed to control the mining activities. We have only seen fraud, cheating, lies and corruption during the last five years, and the time has come to get rid of this misrule,” he said.
Narsaraopet Lok Sabha candidate Lavu Krishnadevarayulu and Assembly candidate Kasu Mahesh Reddy also alleged that the local TDP MLAs had plundered the natural resources while leaving the common man in the lurch.
Snipe at Kodela
Earlier, addressing a roadshow at Sattenapalli, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that “Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao and his son Sivaram harassed common people and business persons and forced them to pay monthly bribes.”
The Safe Pharma company owned by Dr. Siva Prasada Rao’s daughter Vijayalakshmi had been dumping cheap drugs into the medical stores in government hospitals, he alleged.
“We are seeing smiles on the faces of women, and those smiles indicate that the days of this government are numbered. Soon, we will form the government,” said Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Ambati Rambabu, MLA candidate for Sattenapalli, was present.
