Isolated heavy rain likely from Sept 17

A low pressure area is likely to develop over central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal around September 18.

Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts of coastal AP from September 17 to 19.

The southwest monsoon has been normal over coastal AP and Rayalaseema. Rain occurred at a few places over coastal AP and at isolated places over Rayalaseema.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm), received during the last 24 hours, ending at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday, are: Coastal AP: Atmakur (Nellore) 6, Nellimarla (Vizianagaram) and Vizianagaram 5 each, Palakonda (Srikakulam) 4 and Mentada (Vizianagaram) 3.

Rayalaseema: Santhipuram (Chittoor) 6, Palasamudram (Chittoor), Chittoor and Kuppam (Chittoor) 4 each, Venkatagiri Kota (Chittoor) and Palamaner (Chittoor) 3 each.
