Integrationists from all sections of the society and political leaders on Thursday afternoon celebrated the ‘defeat’ of draft A.P. Regorganisaion Bill in Andhra Pradesh Assembly.

People came on to the roads in Guntur, Vijayawada, Eluru, Machilipatnam and Ongole to celebrate the rejection of the Telangana Bill in the State Assembly by voice-vote. In Vijayawada, YSRC activists distributed sweets to people and burst crackers. They took the credit for the victory by saying it was due to the persistent pro-Samaikyandhra speeches of their party leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, other political parties were forced to take a pro-united Andhra stand.

Meanwhile, Telugu Desam supporters who enforced a bandh protesting T-Bill celebrated the occasion by distributing sweets in Guntur in the afternoon.

Party general secretary Mannam Subba Rao led the celebrations in the party office.

In West Godavari, people expressed happiness over the role of the MLAs, Ministers and the Chief Minister in defeating the Bill . The JAC of government employees organised street shows in appreciation of the way how the T-movement received a setback in the Assembly.
