The president of Andhra Association of Telangana, K. Veera Raghava Reddy, has demanded that Section 8 of the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Act be invoked and powers on law and order be given to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan. At a press conference on Friday, Mr. Reddy said that ever since Telangana was born on June 2 last year, there was a feeling of insecurity among people who hailed from Andhra but were living here. “Although there have not been specific attacks against people hailing from Andhra and Rayalaseema, people are definitely feeling insecure. Only invoking Section 8 will give us some security,” he said.
