Miscreants desecrated an idol at a temple at Padmanabha Nagar in the city on Sunday night. The incident came to light on Monday.

Kakinada DSP V. Bheemarao said that a gang was sighted near the Kanakadurga temple on Sunday night. During the preliminary investigation, they were found to be in a drunken state. “The gang is suspected to be involved in the desecration of a Hanuman idol on the temple premises. Four teams have been constituted to nab the accused. A case has been registered and the investigation is on,” said Mr. Bheemarao.
