Bodies of the couple and their son, all committed suicide in a hotel at Kanyakumari, have been kept at Government Medical College Hospital at Aasaaripallam here as their exact identities and address are yet to be established.

Police said a couple and their son checked-in in a hotel at Vivekanandapuram Junction in Kanyakumari on last Thursday and were visiting various parts of the tourist destination.

When their room remained locked till 5 p.m. on Sunday, the hotel workers informed the police, who broke open the door to find the couple hanging from the ceiling fan and the poisoned boy lying on the bed.

In the suicide note he had left in English and Hindi, Anil Kumar Choudhry (45), reportedly hailing from Maanjaaluthurai in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, had said they had been forced to take the extreme decision as they suffered a huge loss in the business.

The police should use his wife’s gold ornaments – a gold chain and two rings - to meet the last rite expenses and it should be performed at Kanyakumari itself, he had reportedly pleaded.

Since the address given by Anil Kumar in the hotel is reportedly fake, the police are struggling to establish his identity and his exact residential address.

“Only after establishing contact with the relatives of the deceased, we can proceed further (conducting of postmortem and other related formalities),” said a police officer.
