Etala Rajender of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) on Monday alleged that even the State Assembly had failed to do justice to Telangana people since a resolution for formation of Telangana State could not be adopted in the House in spite of repeated pleas made by his party.

Participating in a debate on the no confidence motion tabled by the Telugu Desam Party in the Assembly, he said the TRS plea reflected the aspirations of the people of Telangana region but it was ignored in the House as it was dominated by Andhra leaders.

Denying an allegation levelled by the TDP that the TRS had played a key role in selecting a particular company for implementing Polavaram project works, he said,

“The charge should be proved or a CBI inquiry must be ordered into the selection of tenders after scrapping them.”

K. Kannababu (Praja Rajyam) and Dronamraju Srinivas (Congress) defended Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy by citing his achievements. Mr. Kannababu said the motion was tabled only as part of a political strategy.

When the TDP members received his remark with jeers and booing, he advised them “hear or go out”.

He contended that “at present, there are no scams in the State. There are only schemes.” Mr. Naidu had no moral right to talk about farmers as he had done nothing for them during his tenure.

When Telugu Desam members wanted to know from him if he was praising the Chief Minister because of the “package” offered to PR members by the Congress, he shot back, “We have no packages like Viceroy.”
