‘Members must ensure targeted sections benefit from Bills’

Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram adjourned the second session of the 15th AP Legislative Assembly sine die on Tuesday.

Calling it a ‘historic’ session during which 20 Bills were passed after intense discussions, Mr. Sitaram said it was now the responsibility of the members to implement these Bills for the welfare of the targeted sections.

He said the House had met for 14 days and business conducted for 78 hours and 35 minutes.

Of this, the YSRCP members took 65 hours and 36 minutes, the TDP members 12 hours and 19 minutes and the Jana Sena Party member 40 minutes. The Leader of the House had taken 5 hours 37 minutes, Leader of the Opposition 3 hours and 8 minutes and the JSP member 40 minutes.

Mr. Sitaram said 1 hour and 33 minutes were lost in deviations and disturbances. The YSRCP members accounted for 20 minutes and the TDP members for 1 hour and 13 minutes.

As many as 121 starred questions were orally answered and nine unstarred questions were placed on the table of the House. Five short notice questions were tabled and two statements made by the Ministers. Of the 20 Bills introduced, 19 were passed and one withdrawn.

One report (CAG) was presented and one short discussion session was held.
