Anakapalle Town Police Station in Visakhapatnam district will now house the Integrated Surveillance Patrolling and Response Centre (I-SPARC), which will help bring in all major police operations under one roof.

Superintendent of Police (Visakhapatnam Rural) Attada Babujee along with other officials inaugurated the centre here on Friday.

According to Mr. Babujee, I-SPARC is similar to a Command Control Centre (CCC) which would take up activities like surveillance, patrolling and response.

“All CCTV cameras installed in the Town limits can be monitored from this centre. The centre will also monitor the moveement of Blue Colts teams and will receive calls from Dial 100, which will be diverted to the response team for immediate action. This will cover all major surveillance and enforcement operations,” Babujee told The Hindu .

24x7 operations

The SP also added that in I-SPARC, about 80 policemen will be working on shifts round the clock.

About 46 policemen have been allocated to the Blue Colts teams, who will be on patrol duty on motorcycles, across Anakapalle region. The Blue Colts have been given separate jackets for identification. Another 10 to 12 policemen will be driving interceptor (four-wheeler) police vehicles. Another 10 to 12 people will be in the centre, monitoring CCTV footage and receiving Dial 100 calls round the clock.

Anakapalle Inspector (Town) S. Thatha Rao said that Anakapalle Town has been divided into eight areas and the Blue Colts will be patrolling in the regions throughout the day.
