Helpline for workers stranded in Iraq

Andhra Pradesh Minister for NRI Empowerment Palle Raghunantha Reddy has directed the Collectors of 13 districts to gather information on employees working and also caught in the crisis in Iraq.

According to the available information so far, N. Rama Rao of West Godavari and D. Srinivasa Rao of Visakhapatnam were working in Iraq. A helpline with phone Nos. 040 23454946 and 99490 54467 was opened and would be given wide publicity in all the districts for people to send the details of those working in Iraq, he said. The Minister also requested the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to open a special cell in the Indian Embassy of Iraq to assist the migrants and workers stranded in Iraq and send the details of those hailing from the State. The Union Minister and Ambassador to Baghdad would be requested to help the skilled and unskilled workers from poor economic background return to their homeland.
