IT and Panchayat Raj Minister Nara Lokesh told the non-resident Telugus in Dubai that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would be in a position to decide who could be the next Prime Minister if the TDP won all the Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh in the 2019 elections.

Mr. Lokesh, at a ‘Meet and Greet’ programme with the NRI TDP members, detailed the struggles of A.P. since bifurcation and how it is picking up under Mr. Naidu’s leadership. He said that the BJP which had failed to accord the Special Category Status to A.P. and fulfil 18 promises as per the Reorganisation Act, began harassing the State government when it was questioned. “That is the reason why Mr. Naidu is uniting all the regional parties,” he added. .

Mr. Lokesh also met the Gulf migration victims at Dubai airport. He tweeted: “Victims are being supported by APNRT Society in close coordination with AP government. I assured them of their safe return to the State after completion of all formalities with the UAE authorities which will be taken care of by the APNRT.”

Upon their return, we are planning to enrol them into government-run skill development courses as per their skill sets and interests. A word of praise must go to the APNRT team for extending all possible help to the 200 victims including bearing all expenses.”
