In a case of suspected ragging, the hair of two inmates of the Machilipatnam B.C. Welfare Hostel (Girls) was allegedly cut reportedly by their fellow inmates on Tuesday night. One of the girl’s dress (top) was torn and her hand was injured with a sharp object, when the duo were asleep in the same block.
The girls, who are pursuing Intermediate first year in a nearby government college, shared the details of the incident with The Hindu on Wednesday.
“On Tuesday night, I woke up to find that a bunch of my hair and my dress (top) were cut by somebody while I was asleep. I also felt pain on my hand,” said one of the girls.
In the case of another girl, her hair was cut.
She had slept in the same block, in which at least 14 students were accommodated.
“I don’t think anyone from outside gained entry into the hostel. There is no clue regarding the accused, but I have asked the girls to call their parents for talks,” said warden T. Anitha.
