Guntur police seize ₹1.15 cr cash

In the first major seizure of unaccounted cash, the Guntur Urban Police reportedly seized ₹1.15 crore in separate incidents on Tuesday.

The first seizure was done at Velangini Nagar when the police intercepted a car coming towards the Lodge Centre. When the police questioned the vehicle owner, he replied that he was an employee of the Indian Bank in Vijayawada and was shifting the cash to Lakshmi Vilas Bank. The police realised that there were no documents pertaining to ₹95 lakh.

The police also seized cash from Mangalagiri. Additional SP YT Naidu said that cash seized would be handed over to Income Tax office in the presence of Returning Officer.
