The Chittoor District Haj Committee on Monday announced guidelines for Haj pilgrimage.
Haj Committee chairman Mr. M. Afzhal Khan said all applicants from the district should apply online from January 19 to February 20. Each applicant should pay a fee of Rs. 300 to the Indian Haj Committee through nationalised banks.
The applications in hard copy should be enclosed with the original receipt of the payment. Each cover can have up to five applications.
Mr. Khan said application forms can be had from the district office of the Haj Committee on Gokulam Street, and they can avail information through the helpline number 8519831992 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The applications will be processed in two categories - reserve category for applicants aged above 70 years and one for those who do not get selected even for three dips.
Passports should have been issued before February 20, this year.
Those under the general and reserve category have to attach affidavits in accordance with the norms of the Indian Haj Committee, he added.
