Krishna district Collector A. Md. Imtiaz on Monday directed the engineers of various departments to prepare an action plan for all the Assembly constituencies for construction of village secretariat buildings, drainage system and roads.
In a review meeting with the engineers of the Rural Water Supply, Panchayat Raj, Zilla Parishad and others here, Mr. Imtiaz said that the plan should be prepared by Wednesday.
“A grant of ₹13.5 crore for each Assembly constituency is available for the development of drainage and road infrastructure in villages. However, immediate priority should be given to the construction of village secretariats,” he said.
“The plan should be prepared for ₹6 crore for the construction of secretariats in each constituency and ₹3.5 crore for drainage system. The State government will construct 214 secretariat buildings in Krishna district, where existing buildings have been spared to run the 845 secretariats,” said Mr. Imtiaz.
The engineers have been told to use the matching grant to be offered by the Central government for various works under the Swachh Bharat Mission and other Central schemes.
