Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said the government was providing house site pattas worth about ₹30,000 crore to the poor people with women as the beneficiaries.

Distributing the pattas to the eligible families living on the hill slopes in the city, Mr. Naidu said 1.15 lakh families were being given the title deeds in the current phase in a transparent manner.

The government was not sitting pretty on the claims that pattas were handed over, it was cross-checking with the beneficiaries by making phone calls.

By handing over these assets, the government proved its commitment to alleviate the living standards of the poor, he added. Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said pattas valued at ₹2,310 crore were given away on Sunday and approximately ₹7,410 crore to 1.14 lakh beneficiaries across the State. Minister K. Ravindra, Zilla Parishad chairperson Gadde Anuradha, MLC B. Arjunudu and MLAs Gadde Rammohan Rao, Jaleel Khan and Uppuleti Kalpana and Collector Md. Imtiaz were among those present.
