‘Govt. forced closure on 14 jute, alloy units’

May 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:57 am IST - VIZIANAGARAM:

Expressing concern over the government’s negligence in reopening of the closed jute and ferro alloys industries in the district, MLC (Graduates) M.V.S. Sarma asked the workers to unite and bring pressure on the authorities for the same. Speaking at a convention of jute and ferro-alloy staff at NGOs’ home here on Sunday, Mr. Sarma held the Central and State governments responsible for the present state of affairs at the factories. He said prior to the TDP coming to power, only three factories were closed. Owing to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s anti-workers’ policies, 14 more had been declared lock-out during the last one year, he said. A decision was taken to form an action panel to fight for the reopening of industries.
