Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Monday reiterated his commitment to improving the living standards of the poor among the forward castes and for the upbringing of the Backward Classes (BCs) and other weaker sections.

To eradicate poverty, a slew of welfare schemes were being implemented in spite of the financial constraints faced by the government.

Six lakh more beneficiaries would be given modern tools under the subsequent phases of the Adarana-II.

Launching the State-wide phase-I distribution of tool-kits to two lakh artisans under the Adarana - II scheme, the Chief Minister said that the State government was aware of the plight of the Backward Classes and the Kapus whose interests were being taken care of and it would continue to extend all possible support to them.

He said the government would come to the rescue of all those needing financial support for rising above the poverty level and funds would not be an issue. Due priority was given to giving an uplift to the BCs who constituted nearly half the country’s population, he stated.

Anti-BJP platform

The CM said the State was doing its best for the welfare of all sections though the Central government did not extend the support it was supposed to in the wake of bifurcation.

As the Modi government destroyed the democratic institutions and as its economic policies, particularly demonetisation and the GST, set the developmental clock back by several years, efforts were made to build an anti-BJP platform at the national level.

“I am trying to bring all parties opposed to the BJP together so that a capable government is formed and it takes proper care of the national interests. Such a dispensation will be good for our State,” he observed.

Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishna Murthy, Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad and Kurnool MP Butta Renuka were among a host of dignitaries present.
