In Tirupati, TDP leader Muddukrishnama Naidu accused the Governor of shirking his responsibility in making Hyderabad a safe place for Andhras to reside. “This negligent attitude has apparently encouraged the Telangana Government to go to the extent of tapping the phones of officials and non-officials of Andhra Pradesh, including the Chief Minister.”While expressing surprise that the Governor chose not to exercise powers conferred on him under Section 8, Mr. Naidu said Mr. Narasimhan owed an explanation to the people of the state. It was because of the Governor’s indifference that the TS Government could do away with the CET for admission to professional courses, distribution of river waters, etc. with ease, he charged.
