June 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:51 am IST - GUNTUR:

A day after a doctor was brought to book for proven sexual harassment, the Guntur Medical College Vice-Principal Raju Naidu said a women harassment committee was already in place to address complaints relating to sexual harassment at work places.

The committee headed by Head of Department of Pathology, Padmavathy, has been empowered to conduct inquiry into allegations of harassment of women.

“Students, PG doctors should bring the issue to the notice of Principal, who then refers the complaint to the committee. We will take versions of both complainant and respondent and in the recent incident involving PG medical students, we conducted the probe and handed over the report to the Principal” said Dr. Padmavathy.

Dr. Naidu said the inquiry relating to allegations of harassment against Jonnalagadda Balachandradu, Assistant Professor of Dermatology, has been sent to the Director of Medical Education.
