Speakers at a seminar organised by the Students Federation of India (SFI) in Rajamahendri Institute of Engineering and Technology (RIET) underscored the relevance of the principles of Mahatma Gandhi for the current as well as future generations.
Addressing the seminar, RIET principal P.G. Ramanujam said that developed countries like USA, France and others were trying to shun nuclear weapons and were inching towards common relations with developing countries like India. He said that the successive governments in the country were striving hard to strengthen village panchayat systems, women empowerment and secularism. SFI district president B. Pavan and former president T. Arun said in post-independent era, the governments failed to take true spirit of Gandhi’s principles into society.
