Four girls, who went missing from the Bishop Azaraiah Hostel on Saturday, were traced in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. They were studying in the Bishop Azaraiah Junior College.

The four studying Intermediate second year did not return to the hostel from the college on Saturday. The hostel staff searched in vain for them and lodged a complaint with the Suryaraopet police on Sunday. According to the hostel management, one of the girls spoke over cell phone with her boyfriend in the classroom. The teacher reprimanded her and handed over the mobile to the hostel staff. Later, the other girls spoke with their friends and planned to escape from the hostel.

Accordingly, they fled to Visakhapatnam.

The police team, which tracked their movements, alerted the Two Town police in Visakhapatnam, who caught them at the bus station. They were handed over to the Vijayawada police.

“We formed special teams and traced the students in just eight hours,” said Suryaraopet Circle Inspector G.V. Vinay Mohan.
