Four arrested in robbery case

₹3.5 lakh in cash, a motorcycle seized from them

The II-Town police arrested four persons, including two teenagers, in connection with the robbery at a private truck transport office and seized ₹3.5 lakh in cash and a motorcycle from their possession.

Presenting the accused before the media on Thursday, DCP Ch. Vijaya Rao said that the prime accused, E. Venugopal (47) of Kothapeta in the city, who was facing financial problems, hatched a plot along with his nephew Vishal Rajkumar (19) of Maharashtra and the latter’s friends K. Madhav (19) and Sandeep Pandurang (22) to rob Pragathi transport office at Panja Centre.

On July 13, the four attacked the cashier at the transport office with sticks and took away cash.
