Foreigner takes phone inside Tirumala temple

The ISKCON devotee was unaware of the rules, officials claimed

A foreigner who is a member of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) managed to carry his mobile phone into the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala on Tuesday, in a move that left security officials embarrasssed.

Mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the hill temple.

TTD Vigilance and Security sleuths reportedly caught the devotee while he was clicking pictures of the interior of the temple. The devotee reportedly told officials that he was unaware of the rules banning mobile phones inside the temple.

The devotee was let go after a preliminary inquiry.
