YSR Congress Party leader Lakshmi Parvathi took pot-shots at actor- turned-politician N. Balakrishna saying that he lacked courage to make a complete biopic on the life of his father and founder president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), N.T. Rama Rao.

Interacting with the media after offering prayers at the temple of Lord Venkateswara here on Wednesday, Ms. Parvathi said: “Mr. Balakrishna can never make a complete biopic as he will have to either portray Chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu who also happens to be his brother-in-law in the role of a villain or depict my character truthfully.

Late NTR left behind umpteen evidences after he was politically back stabbed. I will approach the appropriate forum in case I am portrayed in a negative role in the sequel of NTR-Kathanayakudu.”

The YSRCP leader said the film, even if screened in two parts, would at best be construed as half biopic and not a complete one as it does not cover all the major events in the late leader’s life.

“Until and unless the torture, sufferings and mental agony to which NTR was subjected to during his last days is properly portrayed, it can never be called a biopic. The people of the State will get to know the truth only after the movie directed by Ram Gopal Varma is released.”

‘Not invited to preview’

In reply to a question, she said though Mr. Balakrishna is good at heart, he is yet to come out of the shadow of Mr. Naidu.

“I would have been happy had they invited me to the preview, but unfortunately it did not happen. This, despite my extending best wishes to the crew.”

Terming the reports of rifts in NTR’s family after her marriage with him ‘totally absurd,’ she said there was excellent understanding among all of them, except one or two, until Mr. Naidu turned them against me after ‘backstabbing’ NTR just to satiate his quest for power.
